It’s part of our tutelage as believers in Christ to sing, preach, and have open discussion about the miracles of Jesus. Nevertheless, away from the church venue there’s often struggle to believe that miracles even exist. On many occasions, there are huge question marks upon our foreheads and doubt/fears in our hearts. Our mind takes over and we ask ourselves series of questions …What defines a miracle? Are miracles taking place today? How can I receive a miracle? Due to the fact we take so many things that God does for granted, the word “Miracle” has lost much of it’s luster. Science can only scratch the surface, but “God” is the only one who can take nothing and makes something from it. That’s a miracle!

Just a few months ago I received a call from my sister out of state giving a praise report . God had used her to minister to someone lame/unable to walk and they were immediately healed through the laying on of hands and the power of prayer. Even though at that time I was going through some emotional upheaval, the Holy Spirit spoke to me saying, “rejoice with those that rejoice”. I have to be honest! At first I felt detached. Here I was waiting for God to work a miracle in my life… and now I have to focus yet again on someone that I know absolutely nothing about?

Of course, the thought was selfish, but I thank God that it was only a fleeting and I listened! Right then I began to rejoice and praise God, the Holy Spirit gave me instructions and I began to move in obedience. In my own life, God wanted to restore relationships that seemed irreconcilable. By this time, I had yielded and the Lord spoke into my spirit that “there’s nothing to hard for Him” … “My son you have the be READY in order for miracles to be released into your life”. So I continued praising God, asking for clarity…Lord, what do you mean READY? It was shortly after … while rejoicing over the healing of the person I knew nothing about … I felt God restoring broken relationships and lifting burdens in my life. God was working another miracle!

At the time, I didn’t realize my sister had also been asking God for a breakthrough regarding her ministry. But God … proved himself worthy as always! God had worked yet another miracle and just to think that it all started with an obedient act of faith.

Not everyone will walk on water, feed five thousand, or open blind eyes. Does that put a limit on God’s miracle working power? Absolutely not! Some things God does comes in small packages, yet it has tremendous impact on our lives and the lives of others. God is still working miracles today! Keep believing and looking for yours!
